What is Recolter Roots?

A vertical farm in a fully controlled environment, where conditions such as sunlight, rain, and wind are recreated through advanced engineering technology.

This innovative system makes it possible to grow strawberries, a variety of fruits, and fresh vegetables without the use of chemical pesticides — ensuring clean, natural, and nutrient-rich production.

The vertical farming model maximizes available space, enhances sustainability, and significantly increases production capacity while maintaining consistent quality all year round.

Fostering the Rise of Our Food Autonomy

Easily integrated into the existing agricultural world, Winter Farm’s technology is a real pillar of sustainable development for market gardening businesses.

By partnering with producers, Winter Farm aims to build an agricultural network integrated with distribution chains, capable of supporting local and off-season supply.

More Productive Farms

- No dependence on weather
- Off-season production
- Unequaled production density

Efficient Use of Water

- 95% less water
- Closed water loop
- No contamination

Healthy Products

- Free of pesticides
- Fresher taste
- More nutrients

Invernadero

A complementary approach to greenhouse cultivation

Thanks to its energy redistribution system, the Winter Farm can heat up to 4 times its surface area in the middle of winter.

This technology reduces production costs for growers and virtually eliminates the carbon footprint of greenhouse cultivation.

By integrating into growers’ facilities, the Winter Farm extends the harvest season and increases its partners’ revenues.

Technology at the Service of the Farmer

Vertical strawberry farm

Recolter Roots is a technology company that designs, implements, and supports the operation of controlled environment agriculture (CEA) solutions in harmony with existing agri-food ecosystems.

Founded in 2018, the company combines precision agriculture with engineering systems and artificial intelligence to secure local supply chains and promote the development of more sustainable horticulture.

Its first concept — a vertical farm dedicated to strawberry cultivation and integrated into traditional greenhouses — quickly positioned the company among the most promising players in the global CEA industry. Building on this success, Recolter Roots now extends its expertise to a wider range of fruits and fresh vegetables, ensuring year-round production of healthy, chemical-free, and nutrient-rich crops.

Our objectives

  • Replace 10% of strawberry imports in Canada and expand local production of other fruits and vegetables.
  • Create an export market to the northeastern United States.
  • Implement our technological solutions worldwide, adapting them to different crops and regional needs.

Stimulating the Growth of Our Food Autonomy

Recolter Roots offers farmers a turnkey solution that extends the harvest season and improves business profitability.

Our goal is to build, in collaboration with growers, an agro-industrial network capable of sustaining local supply all year round. To achieve this, we focus on vertical farming and integrating our operations with those of producers.

What is a Winter Farm?

It is a 100% controlled indoor farm where juicy winter strawberries are grown vertically. Sun, rain, and wind are reproduced through cutting-edge engineering systems.

Thanks to these perfect climatic conditions, no chemical pesticides are used. Pollination is guaranteed by the meticulous work of bumblebees, just like it happens in nature!

By focusing on vertical farming, a winter farm maximizes the available cultivation area and increases the production capacity of growers.
